The Grand Canyon

We actually made it to the Grand Canyon in time to visit the park Friday night and see the sunset in the Canyon. What an incredible place. We bought the $80 National Park pass in Carlsbad so it saved us the $25 entry fee into the Grand Canyon plus the extra $25 it would have cost us to go back in and pass through the park on Saturday since thats really the only way to get to Colorado the way we wanted to go. The pass has paid for itself already. Check out the website at http://www.nps.gov/archive/grca/grandcanyon/south-rim/index.htm. We went to the South Rim which is the most popular. The North Rim is suppose to be great but its a 6 hour drive and we were running out of time to get Frank and Michelle into Colorado by Monday so they could spend a week visiting family before they fly home Sunday the 18th.
